Drag Me To Hell: Movie Review

So it's the summer and you're looking for a good horror movie to watch. Something that'll get your heart pumping and you're blood flowing while you try not to gag at the grossness. Well, this movie is for you.

Drag Me To Hell is a horror movie brought to you by the director of Evil Dead trilogy. Sam Raimi, the one and only, the man who directed the amazing movies Evil Dead , Evil Dead II and Evil Dead: Hail to the King brings us this horrific gross-fest. From the very beginning it leaves you wanting more; the horror that this movie brings in the first 10 minute is enough for anyone to have nightmares, but that's not enough to make a horror flick like this. No, he went above and beyond, writing it with Ivan Raimi.

It starts out simple enough; but then it gets interesting. Christine Brown (Alision Lohman) , a loan officer for a bank hoping for the promotion of her life meets an interesting woman named Mrs. Ganush; an old woman who's about to loose her house. Christine in an attempt to please her boss, denies her the mortgage she needs and soon finds herself at the hands of the old woman who claims to have been shamed by her. Not thinking anything of it, Christine goes about the rest of her day, only to be assaulted in her car afterwards by Mrs. Ganush (Lorna Raver) . Mrs. Ganush; after a major gross-fest that left me unable to eat my popcorn curses Christine and disappears, later to die without Christine's knowledge.

And so the curse begins; she only has 3 days before her soul is dragged to Hell and she has no idea how to stop it. I'm not going to say anymore due to massive spoilers but believe me, this'll leave you sitting there going "NO!"

The amazing special effects of this movie only prove how far we've come since the early 80's. Now, you can't tell which is real and which is fake, something you could easily do in the 80's. The computer graphics were astounding, leaving us wanting more and not having it. Sudden images of the fly and the "
Lamia" the demon coming to take poor Christine's soul down to the pits of hell were just amazing, having my jump out of my seat and yes I admit it I screamed at the ending.

All in all Samia has done it again, creating a horror master piece full of twists and turns leaving you breathless for more. Of course they is some comedy aspects of this film too, like all of Samia's work, so you won't be dissapointed. Pay close attention to the last 30 minute of the movie, you'll be amazed and surprised.

So if you're looking for a great horror movie, or you're sick of the comedies and want something else, this movie will satisfy your craving.

Memorial Day and other thoughts

What the hell is the deal with construction at 6am? I mean seriously, people like to sleep you know, honestly I went to bed at 2am I don't need people cursing and banging heavy instruments outside my window. Sure, the roads do need serious work, I'm tired of tripping over broken concrete and practically breaking my ankle as I walk to the movies or stores, but please please please give us some time to get ourselves prepared, that's all I'm asking. I know it needs to be done but normally they publish it in the local paper, but not this time, nope.

Anyway, besides all that my ex called today. Basically he said he was drunk when he sent that message on Facebook, but I know it's a lie. I know he cheated on me; I caught him. Guy thinks he can have more cake than he deserves. I'm hurt, I thought we had something good you know? It was a great relationship, I don't know if I'll ever trust anything he ever says. I'm not even sure if we can be friends after this. What makes him think he can cheat on me, lie about it then do something like that? Note to all guys out there: Don't cheat then send a drunken message on facebook. If you want to break it off with us tell us to our faces. We won't smack you like we should. Sure we'll cry and probably scream and cuss at you but that's it. Promise *innocent smile*

On a happy note though my Aunt called me today; she's coming up for my birthday, totally awesome since the last tiem I saw her was like 5 years ago. I get to meet my two adorable nephews and my Uncle who I miss more than I can say. Family is greatly important to me.

Today is Memorial Day in the States. It makes me remember Travis. I miss him everyday but he died for our country and for that I'm thankful. Wow that sounded awful. I mean I didn't want him to die, not like that but hee knew what he was getting into and I know the only regret he had was not spending more time with me. I still have his last letter to me; full of promiice and something else. If he hadn't died I'd be engaged right now I know that now. I keep his memory close to my heart.

Thank you to all the veterans and those who are fighting now. If it wasn't for you guys we'd be worst off than we are now. Eve though I live in Canada I believe that everything is connected. Those Americian, and even Canadians fighting right now are doig it for us, to make a better world for everyone. Even though I hate wars I know not to hate them. I respect them all and salute every single person out there.

*saluts*

Just in Time...

Welcome everyone!

Well, I put it off long enough but I've finally decided that I don't care who reads this I'm just putting my weird and random thoughts down on the internet for all to see. Why am I doing this? Well, I figure if I want to be a published author one day I may as well make a blog and post post post.

So, let me introduce myself. I'm Suzie, I'm 25 almost 26 (45 days to go!) and I'm a wanna-be graphic designer. I love making things from the computer, be it works of graphical design or just random thoughts in word I'm there. I have a cat named Bella, who just gave birth to 4 adorable kittens. One looks exactly like her, the others just random colors. There's one that's all black with a brown butt we now call it Brownie.

Music; what don't I like? Right now I'm addicted to Thriving Ivory, you guys should totally check them out if you haven't. They sing songs that have meaning. Angels on the Moon is my all-time favorite right now. They're not really big yet but they will be soon I know it. The genre they play is Alternative Rock/Inde Rock and yeah what can I say? If I ever get down to the good ol' US of A to check out a concert I'd be flipping my lid. Clayton Stroopes' voice is just amazing, he really feels the music when he sings, and you can tell he's not in it for the money for fame, he just loves doing what he loves. The other members of the band, Scott Jason, Drew Cribley, Bret Cohune and Paul Niedermier all make one heck of an amazing group.

Other groups I love right now, Nickleback, Linkin Park, Paramore, NkotB, Beyonce (Halo is just amazing!) and so many others I'd waste my afternoon just gushing over them.

Hm, what else can I say right now? Not much I guess, need to get back to my novel; five chapters finished if I keep this up I'll be finished before the end of the year.

Laterz!
